Death Records

The will of God be done by us.
The law of God be kept by us,
Our evil will controlled by us,
Our tongue in check be held by us,
Repentence timely made by us,
Christ's passion understood by us,
Each sinful crime be shunned by us,
Much on the End be mused by us,
And Death be blessed found by us,
With Angels' music heard by us,
And God's high praise sung to us,
For ever and for aye.

St. Patrick's Cross, Cashel, Co. Tipperary

We do not have nearly as many death records as baptism records in this collection, so it feels like we have many, many loose ends.  We have been able to draw some inferences about death dates based on the succession of leaseholders we have seen in the property records, so when we come across an actual death record we can often link it to a specific individual based on these previously estimated death dates.

The records we have in the collection come from three sources: civil death registrations, an extract of the death registration index, and cemetery  gravestones.

When it comes to civil death registrations, we have exactly one certificate: Ellen Buckley (nee Molloy, we believe), widow of Edmond Buckley of Shanacloon, below:

Ellen Buckley, farmer's widow

The death register and cemetery data we have is too lengthy to place on this single page, so it has been divided into the two additional pages that are linked by the buttons below.
